RAINFALL

 

 

  • Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall occurred over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim on one or two days of the week.
  • Isolated to scattered rainfall occurred over Assam & Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and Himachal Pradesh on many days of the week and over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and South Interior Karnataka on a few days of the week and over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and Kerala on one or two days of the week.
  • Mainly dry weather prevailed over the remaining parts of the country during the week.

 

Minimum Temperature

  • Above normal to appreciably above normal over West Bengal, Orissa, Bihar, East Madhya Pradesh and Saurashtra & Kutch on most days of the week and over Assam & Meghalaya, Jharkhand, East Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Gujarat Region, Maharashtra & Goa and Andhra Pradesh on many days of the week and over Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka on a few days of the week and over Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, East Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Coastal Karnataka and Kerala, on one or two days of the week.
  • Appreciably below normal over Vidarbha on 25th February and over Tamil Nadu on 3rd March.
  • Below normal over Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Assam & Meghalaya, Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka on one or two days of the week.
  • Minimum temperatures were near normal over the remaining parts of the country.

Maximum Temperature

 

  • Above normal to appreciably above normal over Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura,, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Marathawada, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep on most days of the week and over Konkan & Goa and Madhya Maharashtra on many days of the week and over Andaman & Nicobar Islands, East Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh on a few days of the week and over Assam & Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Jharkhand, West Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir and Gujarat State on one or two days of the week.
  • Markedly below normal on 2nd March and appreciably below normal on 3rd March over Assam & Meghalaya.
  • Below normal over Konkan & Goa on 25th February and over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim on 27th February.
  • Maximum temperatures were near normal over the remaining parts of the country.

Outlook for the week ending on 10th March, 2010

  • Isolated to scattered rainfall would occur over northeastern States and over western Himalayan region and Punjab during 1st half of the week.
